Important Valet Living Home Service Update

Hello Valet Living Home Residents,

After careful consideration, and in accordance with state and federal guidelines, Valet Living Home feels that we can provide you with exceptional yet safe service that keeps you and our associates healthy.  We will resume providing you with our standard-setting home clean and pet visit amenity services! Effective Monday, June 1st, 2020, home cleans and pet visits will once again be available to order via the Valet Living Home app. So that you are aware, we wanted to outline our current standard-setting measures we have always taken to keep our residents healthy and reduce cross-contamination.

Home Cleans (this amenity will resume on June 1, 2020):

  • We provide color-coded cleaning towels for each room in your apartment, and each home is cleaned with separate clean towels
  • Our Home Valets are required to wear clean gloves in each home, and gloves are properly discarded after cleaning every home 
  • To decrease the spread of bacteria, all floors are vacuumed instead of being swept 
  • We require our Home Valets to wipe down all supplies at the end of each home clean 
  • We use EPA registered disinfectant spray for all surfaces that kill 99.9% of all bacteria and viruses

Pet Visits (this amenity will resume on June 1, 2020):

  • We require our Pet Valets to wear gloves during each pet visit
  • Pet Valets are trained to wash their hands before and after each pet visit 
  • We provide hand sanitizer to be used before and after each pet visit as needed

Concierge Desk Services and Resident Experience Specialists:

  • Associates use disinfectant to wipe down work areas during each workday

Torch Fitness by Valet Living:

  • Instructors wipe down all fitness equipment before and after each class

We want you to feel safe and confident when using Valet Living Home amenity services in your home. As a result, at no additional cost, we have enhanced the robust cleaning and safety procedures we use daily to make sure that we can continue to provide you with standard-setting amenity services while also keeping you happy and healthy. 

Associate Health

All members of your Valet Living Home team are required to wash their uniforms daily and wear clean uniforms when arriving at your home. We are reminding our associates regularly about washing their hands often for the CDC-recommended 20 seconds. Also, we will be requiring that our associates participate in a “three-step health check” with their managers each day prior to beginning their shift to monitor any symptoms or potential exposures. This health check is comprised of three questions:

  • Do you have a fever, or have you in the last 24 hours?
  • Are you experiencing a cough or having difficulty breathing?
  • To your knowledge, have you been exposed to anyone with COVID-19?

If the answer to any of the questions above is “yes,” our associate will be asked to promptly seek medical attention and remain at home for the CDC-recommended length of time.

Home Cleans (this amenity will resume on June 1, 2020):

  • We will be providing all residents with hand sanitizers after cleaning your home
  • A quick, resident health check via phone will be scheduled prior to your home clean
  • Home cleans will only be performed if all residents are NOT in the apartment home while the clean is happening
  • Home Valets will wear gloves and masks at all times while in your home
  • Follow up note cards will no longer be left in your home
  • All housekeeping equipment will be wiped down after each home clean
  • All door handles will be wiped down when entering and exiting all homes
  • We have enhanced some chemicals to hospital-grade disinfectants
  • We have provided re-training for our associates on the appropriate use of safety equipment that helps prevent contamination

Pet Visits (this amenity will resume on June 1, 2020):

  • A quick, resident health check via phone will be scheduled prior to your home clean
  • Home Valets will wear gloves and a mask while inside your home
  • Home Valets will wash their hands for at least 20 seconds before and after each pet visit
  • In-home pet visits, not walks, will only be performed if the resident is not home
  • If you plan on being home during the scheduled pet visit, your pet handover between you and your Home Valet will happen at the entrance of your home, and your Home Valet will already be wearing his or her mask and gloves
  • Dogs will be walked with a Valet Living Home leash only and the leash will be disinfected after each use
  • All door handles will be wiped down when entering and exiting all homes

Concierge Desk Services and Resident Experience Specialists:

  • All work areas will be wiped down on an hourly basis
  • We have provided gloves to all associates, and they are required to use gloves with all package handling
  • Associates will now wipe down all door handles before entering and exiting your home 
  • We have provided sanitizer for all Valet Living work areas for associate and resident use
  • Associates are required to wash hands or use hand sanitizer before and after a resident interaction 

Torch Fitness by Valet Living:

  • We will modify all classes to limit the use of gym equipment 
  • Yoga classes will require residents to provide their own yoga mats 
  • Fitness classes will be modified to bodyweight exercises to avoid the use of equipment 
  • Zumba classes will eliminate any partner movements
  • All residents on active Torch Fitness communities will receive FREE access to our virtual fitness program via our IGNITE training app
    • The IGNITE app is an optional resident subscription plan valued at $70 monthly per resident 
    • This app will allow you to work out in your apartment home with a Torch Fitness trainer, allowing you to maintain a healthy lifestyle while also practicing social distancing 
    • More information will be sent to your community management teams on Monday, March 16th 
We will continue to monitor this developing situation closely, and we are working with your community management teams to allow as little disruption to your Valet Living Home amenity services as possible while keeping our primary focus on keeping you, our valued residents, and our associates safe.
