Joe Malato has over 20 years’ experience in workplace health and safety. Joe’s passion for his profession comes from the hope that all workers go home to their families, happy and healthy, at the end of the day. Joe started his career with Six Flags Theme parks, and then moved on to other fortune 500 companies such as AT&T, Illinois Tool Works Chemical Division, CRH Holdings, and now is the Senior Director, Environmental, Health and Safety at Valet Living. Joe is active in his local chapter of the American Society of Safety Professionals and continues to mentor new safety professionals throughout the country. Joe has a passion for developing and implementing solid behavior-based safety systems for organizations, to positively influence a company’s safety culture and reduce injuries. In his career, Joe has been part of deploying four different safety information management systems into the organizations he worked for, including Process MAP with Valet Living. Joe is an OSHA VPP Special Government Employee, a Certified Fire Protection Specialist, and is a Certified Safety Manager.
