Valet Living has become the newest Pledge Partner of Recycling at Work, a voluntary national effort led by Keep America Beautiful (KAB) to increase workplace recycling.

“As we continue to set the standard in multifamily housing, we want to lead by example when it comes to our pledge to sustainability,” said Valet Living President and CEO, Shawn Handrahan.  “We are proud to partner with Recycling at Work and are excited to take the next step in our journey to zero waste.”

According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), as much as 45 percent of the 250 million tons of municipal waste generated in 2010 was from businesses, government offices, retail establishments, schools and hospitals.    As a Pledge Partner, Valet Living joins a growing number of businesses and organizations across the country who have committed to reducing waste and making recycling a priority.

“Our associates have embraced the office recycling program, and we look forward to sharing results and best practices with other organizations.”

“We congratulate Valet Living for its leadership in taking the Recycling at Work pledge,” said Brenda Pulley, KAB Senior Vice President, Recycling.  “Increasing recycling rates translates into measurable benefits including waste reduction, energy savings, natural resource conservation and job creation.”
